Before the sample has been fed to the machine, it has been embrittled in liquid nitrogen. Embrittlement is required, because asphalt use to be very sticky (especially when it will became warmed inside of a grinding chamber).

The complete amount of sample has been ground within 40 seconds. Afterwards, no particles bigger as 2 cm have been found.

This is a proper feed size for a Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 (see result 2).

Sample which has been ground with Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1 Model I in result 1 has been placed in liquid nitrogen again for embrittlement. After the sample has been chilled (~ 1 min), sample has been fed to the feeding funnel of Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 spoon wise.

After ~4-5 minutes, all sample has been ground. Majority of ground sample use to be < 1,5 mm. Because the grinding disks are barely free of residues, even higher amounts should be grindable.

Also smaller gap settings are plausible to achieve finer grinding results.
