Because fine ground sample use to rise in volume, not more than 130 g of sample should be ground per 500ml bowl. With up to 4 bowl fasteners, up to 500g can be ground per batch.
To avoid over pressure, we ground the sample in steps of 5 minutes, followed by a programmed pausing time of 10 minutes. After several cycles, the outside temperature of the bowl should be checked (remain below 80°C); grinding time or programmed pausing time might be readjusted afterwards.
After 5 minutes of grinding, about 54% of sample has been ground to < 25 µm. After 10 minutes of grinding, already ~ 73 % of sample use to be < 25 µm.
For a better fineness, we might recommend changing ball diameter to e.g. 2mm Ø and proceed grinding.
