Variable Speed Rotor Mill PULVERISETTE 14 classic line

We used a document shredder for pre cutting into stripes and a scissors for cutting to particles < 1 cm. With this start size, all sample has been fed within 75 seconds.

Sample use to be lightly attached to pan and lid and needs to be brushed out. Even higher amounts of sample (30-45 g) might be grindable with the standard pan.

For a rapid cleaning, vacuuming with a soft brush is possible.

Like in the first trial too, sample was sticking to the grinding chamber by electrostatic charge. It was possible to brush out 20.7 g of loose material from the collecting vessel.

The remaining electrostatic attached sample can be removed rapidly by vacuuming with a soft brush.

Even higher amounts of sample can be ground this way. We don’t expect that much higher amounts of residue will be found in the grinding chamber.

All 6 paper sheets has been rolled at once longitudinal and pushed into the standard hopper. Sample got ground and exhauster was removing ground particles in the moment when they are able to pass the trapezoidal openings of the sieve cassette. With the cyclone separator, 28 g of ground particles have been blown into the collecting glass.

The grinding chamber use to remain free of residues; a grinding of higher amounts is still possible.

For a daily grinding of higher amounts of sample, we recommend using a rotor and fixed knives made of hardmetal tungsten carbide instead of steel for a much longer durability.
