Because only a limited amount of sample has been sent, we split the sample in half to demonstrate grinding result.

First half has been used in this trial to demonstrate the grinding result with a rotor speed mill. The complete sample has been ground within 1 minute.

Majority of sample use to show a fineness, half of the size of the trapezoidal openings. For this, d50 < 0,5 mm is expected to be found. Only a few percentage of particles use to be in rage of 0,7-0,9mm length.

For a grinding of higher amounts, accessories for grinding large quantities use to be available for the Variable Speed Rotor Mill PULVERISETTE 14 (which should be suitable for only 200g of sample). Also the sample exhauster system with cyclone separator can be equipped to the variable speed rotor mill.

Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 classic line with 4 grinding bowl fasteners

main disk speed: 360 rpm

80 ml grinding bowl made of hardmetal tungsten carbide (WC)

+ 5x 20 mm Ø hardmetal tungten carbide grinding balls

Second half of sample has been used to show a result with a planetary mill.

Just 1 minutes of dry grinding has been necessary to grinding all sample to < 0,8 mm size. Still longer dry grinding times are plausible for a further size reduction.

For a grinding of higher amounts, up to 4 bowls with a maximum volume of 500 ml can be used at a Planetary Mill PULVERISETTE 5 classic line.
